Thinking of joining the East Bay Anglers?

Membership:

There are currently 30 members of the East Bay Anglers. They come from a 25 mile radius of East Providence.

Joining:

Attend two meetings (seminars count as one) Ask two club members to sponsor you. Dues are $20 per year. Fiscal year begins in October.
Meeting time and place: The club meets on the second Wednesday of every month at the Riverside Sportsman's club on Mohawk Drive in East Providence, R.I.  That's off of the Northbound lane of the Wampanoag Trail.  The clubhouse features a bar, although this is not a drinking club.

Meeting format:

A light meal is served around 6:30 pm. Business is covered at around 7 pm, followed by a raffle of fishing equipment. Programs get underway shortly after 7:30 pm, and are usually over by 8:30.  We hire the best available speakers and try to pay them well (currently $100).

Communication:

The club publishes a monthly newsletter and is an 'affiliate of the Rhode Islands Saltwater Anglers Association. (RISAA).

Programs:

The club offers a mixed series of speakers who teach members where and how to catch fish; as well as speakers who keep members informed of current environmental issues. Speakers are paid generously.

Club Tournament:

The club competition runs from May to October, with shore and boat divisions and a juvenile division. Three species of fish are targeted each month in the boat and shore divisions, and $25 prizes handed out each division. (Tournament Rules Here)
